Quarry Support Assistant

37 hours per week, Monday – Friday

£22,345 - £23,483 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for a Quarry Support Assistant at Cursiter Quarry, Firth to join our team.
The successful candidate will require a flexible attitude to work and a willingness to undertake a variety of duties.
In addition to the normal range of duties you must be able to undertake standby duties and winter maintenance works as required. This will involve out of hours working, for which an appropriate overtime or standby payment will be made and may be on either a planned rota or relief basis.

Duties will include undertaking weighbridge operations, including the issue, receipt, inspection and validation of all materials brought to and from Cursiter Quarry in accordance with Environmental Legislation, Health and Safety Legislation and Council policy. In addition you will be expected to contribute to management of paperwork associated with the Quality Management System and to produce appropriate reports regarding management of materials at the quarry.

Experience of dealing with members of the public, employees and others is essential. You should have effective communication, inter-personal and organisational skills, experience of following written or verbal instructions, ability to demonstrate effective teamwork and being able to prioritise workloads and competing tasks.

You should possess an SVQ level 1, SVQ level 2, Standard Grades, National 4, National 5, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, O Grades or equivalent, or have a minimum of one year’s previous experience in an administrative, customer-facing or otherwise relevant role.
